La La Anthony Gets Real About Keeping Carmelo’s Last Name
According to Page sixLa La appeared as a speaker on a panel at Fanatics Fest in New York City on Saturday, August 17. During her time on the panel, La La reportedly “bragged” about her basketball career and Melo’s 17-year-old son, Kiyan.
Furthermore, amid her emotions, La reportedly revealed that Kiyan’s success is “part of the reason” she kept her last name “Anthony.”
“The moment I can buy Kiyan’s NBA jersey will be the best moment,” The panel moderator, Taylor Rooks, is said to have told La La.
In response, La shared:
“That’s why I haven’t changed my last name yet. I’ll keep it for a little while!”
Here’s What La La & Kiyan Have Been Up To Lately
According to Page sixLa La and Carmelo married in 2010 after dating for seven years. In 2017, the couple announced their separation before briefly reuniting. Despite this, La and Melo remain a united support system for Kiyan. In 2022, the pair became famous for sitting next to each other at one of their son’s games in London, according to Shade room.
Most recently, Kiyan showed his gratitude for his mother’s support in a special way. In July, the 17-year-old showed off a giant portrait of La La that he had tattooed on his arm, according to Combination.
“Dear Mom, you always put me before yourself. You are my reason. I thank God for you every day,” the message under the portrait is said to have read.

Earlier this month, Carmelo appeared with her son in the front row at the 2021 Paris Olympics.
The former NBA star has also been spending time with his daughter, Genesis. Earlier this month, Melo attended the 7-year-old’s Knicks-themed birthday party.
