Lawyer reacts to report of assault on family friend


Method man became a trending topic on Thursday after a media outlet reported that he recently booked THE PAWS for a family friend! However, not long after, Method’s lawyer applauded the report and completely denied the incident.

“Mr. Smith categorically denies the allegations as reported and has not been arrested by any law enforcement agency,” the attorney said in a statement to The Shade Room.

Here’s what reports say Method Man did

Circulation reports are sourced from New York Post Office and cite law enforcement sources. It is alleged that Method Man assaulted a family friend at Crunch Fitness in Staten Island but it was not specified when this occurred. The report further states that the friend is 28 years old Patrick Sokoyahad a relationship with Method’s daughter more than 10 years ago. Law enforcement sources reportedly told NYP that the altercation ended the said relationship.

Method Man allegedly punched Patrick seven times in the face “with his fist.” Although Patrick reportedly felt dizzy at the scene, the report claims he refused medical attention. NYP also confirmed that the NYPD filed a complaint about the incident but did not arrest Method Man, real name Clifford Smith Jr.

Method has not spoken out about the alleged report on its social media platforms. According to EVERYBODYThe Wu-Tang Clan rapper-turned-actor has three adult children. His first child in the 90s was a son named Shakuan. Also in the ’90s, Method welcomed twins, another son named Raekwon and a daughter named Cheyenne.

His daughter is now a developing artist and goes by the stage name Chey. In 2024, she released the singles “Hair and Nails” and “Boujee and Ghetto.”
