Lightning strikes and kills 13 children in Palabek refugee camp
A lightning strike at a refugee camp in Uganda has killed 13 children and one adult, police said.
They said the victims were attending a church service on Saturday night when they were struck by lightning. 34 other people were injured.
The incident occurred in the Palabek Refugee Settlement in the northwest of the country. This area has recently had heavy rain with thunder and lightning.
Kituuma Rusoke, a spokesman for the Uganda Police, told BBC News that the adult who died on Saturday was 21 years old. Mr. Rusoke did not reveal the exact ages of the children who died.
