Welcome back when we open Nintendo Life mailbox once again.
Here we are in 2025, ready to develop and Nintendo pleased to give us all good news: ‘Switch 2’ is indeed Switch 2, it looks very sexy and watches this space. We are interpreting, but that is the main idea.

“Old Nintendo” (*** Letter ***)
Dear NL,
Nintendo will probably never get worse. I know this is an uncommon, but yes. With great targeting in Retro, YouTubers and a completely legal simulation (not copyright infringement), defeating fans’ games, and, the worst is the lack of charm in the cashew board their control. Going back in 3DS/Wii u day, we have music, beautiful menu, Miiverse and focus larger on Miis. I want the old Nintendo. People are not afraid of being a little different from people.

Nintendo is a very different entity from BlackBerry and Facebook, one of the first and most important entertainment business activities, so those comparisons are not appropriate to exceed early commercial success and luck.

I have 2 games for Christmas: Kirby and the forgotten land and Mario vs Donkey Kong. Both games have the perfect difficulty, easy to go through, great challenges to collect everything at a level, up to 100% difficult (especially true for Kirby). When I consider your reviews, I see serious criticisms for low difficulty, then a lot of ideas say that people will not buy such an easy game. They don’t know, what they miss. I admit that these things are easier than my youth games, but I don’t miss my cold sweat when fighting Bowser in the winter. Therefore, my feeling is that you are lowering difficulties, preventing readers from playing great games.

I mean, Kirby has 9/10 and the remake of Mario vs Donkey Kong also records a ‘good’ 7/10. I disagree that there are “serious criticisms” about difficulties in both cases. If someone loves the level of challenge that causes sweat, those things will not be satisfied with them and that is noticeable. For others, the context of fully evaluated shows that there are many things to enjoy in both games.

So, with Nintendo Switch 2, an official official thing is on the road and never knows the website before conversion, I want to ask- do you know how the site will change with the new system? I consulted with the top brass and nothing planned when changing colors right now. The Red felt very ‘Nintendo’ and something bright and powerful was more suitable for gray entertainment in my book. The 20th anniversary of the NL will appear this year, so the ideas for that are spreading but the total number of front of the front for Switch 2 is not on the card right now.
