Earn Points on Marriott Bonvoy Bountiful
The Marriott Bonvoy Bountiful Card has similar earning rates to other Marriott credit cards, such as Marriott Bonvoy Brilliant® American Express® Card And Marriott Bonvoy Boundless® Credit CardHowever, there are some notable differences.
First, Bountiful cardholders can earn 6 Marriott Bonvoy points for every dollar spent at participating Marriott Bonvoy hotels, which is competitive with most other Marriott co-branded cards.
Cardholders can also earn 4 points per dollar at restaurants worldwide and grocery stores (on the first $15,000 in combined purchases per year, then 2 points per dollar after that limit is reached). All other purchases will earn 2 points per dollar.
As noted earlier, TPG September 2024 valuation Marriott Bonvoy pegs in at 0.85 cents a point. That translates to 5.1% returns at Marriott properties, 3.4% returns on the first $15,000 spent at restaurants and grocery stores, and 1.7% returns on all other purchases.
This is great for Marriott loyalists looking to boost their Bonvoy points, but keep in mind that Other cards may offer a better option. to earn rewards for non-bonus spending categories.
Additionally, the Bountiful card lacks rewards for other popular spending types (like gas And Airline ticket), so you may want to look for items purchased elsewhere that are not in the above categories.

Redeem Points on Marriott Bonvoy Bountiful
When the time comes Use your Marriott pointsThere are plenty of options. Generally, the best way to redeem rewards is to stay at a hotel for free. Marriott’s global portfolio includes about 10,000 properties across 30 brands in 141 countries. The range is wide, from budget options like TownePlace Suites to more upscale brands like JW Marriott and Luxury Collection.
Some of the most luxurious places are suites—like the St. Regis Maldives—while others offer all-inclusive experiences, like the Al Maha Resort in the desert outside Dubai. Some of Marriott’s top properties can cost as much as 100,000 points (or even more) per night.
That’s a lot of points to use, but when you consider the fact that room rates can go as high as $1,500 a night, that would provide nearly double our September 2024 redemption value. valuation of Marriott points.
However, keep in mind that Marriott uses a flexible pricing program instead of a fixed rewards chart.
It’s worth noting that you can book awards with Marriott up to 60 days in advance, even if you’re short on points. However, this only confirms the room; it doesn’t lock in the price you’ll pay.
Once you have enough points to confirm your booking, you’ll pay the award rate in effect at that time. While this can save you points if the price drops, it can be frustrating if you lock in the hotel and then end up paying an extra 5,000 or even 10,000 points per night.
This may not be a big deal for a short vacation, but spread out over a week-long vacation, and you’ll see a significant change in the final price.
Luckily, Marriott still gives you a free night whenever you book with points. for five nights (or more). However, this only applies if you use your points for at least five nights. You won’t be eligible if any of those five nights are included in a free night certificate.
This benefit can be stacked, meaning if you book ten nights of award stays with Marriott, you’ll get two nights free, for example.
Transfer Points with Marriott Bonvoy Bountiful
You can transfer Marriott Bonvoy points to nearly 40 partner airlines, and unlike Hilton and Hyatt points, Marriott points have great potential when used this way.
Most partners have a 3:1 conversion rate, so 3,000 Marriott points will typically get you 1,000 airline miles. You’ll also get a 5,000-mile bonus for every 60,000 points transferred to select airlines—bringing the conversion rate to 2.4:1.
Some notable partner airlines include AeroMexico Club Premier, Air Canada Aeroplan, Air France-KLM Fly Blue, Avianca LifeMiles And Turkish Airlines Miles and Smiles.

The last line
With a $250 annual fee, the Marriott Bonvoy Bountiful card falls between a luxury hotel card and an economy card. However, the Bountiful card doesn’t offer the benefits you’d expect from a mid-tier hotel card. There’s no annual free night (you need to spend $15,000 in a year to earn a free night) and no statement credits for hotel stays or other purchases.
I don’t recommend the Bonvoy Bountiful for most people unless you’re a loyal Marriott fan and are looking for a mid-tier card; otherwise, you’re better off with another hotel card.
