Here’s a breakdown of Megan and Nicki Minaj’s viral war
In late January, Megan’s song ‘Hiss’ went viral with the lyrics, “Those bitches aren’t mad at Megan, those bitches are mad at Megan’s Law.” Minaj’s fan base believes the quote is a reference to Minaj’s husband, Kenneth Petty. For context, Petty was convicted of attempted rape in 1995 and arrested in 2020 for failing to register as a sex offender.
Minaj then clap back by reposting the lyrics to ‘Hiss’ in an X post and posting multiple other posts on the same platform targeting Megan and her “dead mother.”

Nicki then went on to release the song ‘Big Foot’. The song and title repeatedly reference the 2020 shooting of Tory Lanez that left him 10 year sentence.
Meanwhile, Thee Stallion has never explicitly responded to Minaj’s track or the continued criticism it has received since its release. However, in June, online users questioned whether the Houston Hottie throwing shots at Queen Barb on her album ‘Megan’. In the song ‘Rattle’, Megan Thee Stallion raps:
““I want everyone here with me/ But it’s my fault, too friendly/ I thought everything was fine/ But all this time, you were my enemy… Damn, bitch, it’s been four years/ Worrying about your husband and your kids/ Your life must be boring if you still remember the bad things we did.”
Nicki Minaj has yet to respond to Megan’s comments to Billboard. The ‘Pink Friday 2’ artist is preparing to kick off her second headlining tour of the year in Philadelphia tonight (September 4). Hours before taking the stage, she sent a message to her fans.
“Today is the day. The final part of the #PinkFriday2 era starts today. Thank you for your love and support. Thank you for wishing my team and I all the best. Thank you for being the most amazing people on this earth. This is the first time I’ve ever done 2 major tours in one calendar year – (as the mother of #PapaBear @ that)… So I’d be lying if I said it was “easy”. I just keep reminding myself that one thing I’ve learned and promised myself I’d never forget the last time I saw you guys is that no matter how I feel when I’m ON stage, I feel a million times better when I get off. It’s physically exhausting of course, but mentally exhilarating. I don’t know what it is really, but you guys have a way of putting things back into perspective without me even knowing or trying. The sudden rush of all these amazing, lovely, precious, magical, majestic, hilarious, humorous, uplifting, moving, uniquely layered, carefully crafted, multifaceted, powerful, vulnerable, vivid, bright, crystal clear, beautiful, reassuring, fleeting memories all started to come flooding back and I thought to myself… maybe it was all worth it.”
