Melania Trump will have dinner with you (for $1 million): Report
Melania Trump spent almost no time on the 2024 campaign trail, attending only a breakup about the events in an effort to get her husband re-elected. But she’s open to a dinner with the president-elect and his supporters before the 2025 inauguration—if attendees donate $1 million for the honor.
New York Times report that a flyer titled “Trump Vance Inaugural Committee Benefits” listed an “elegant and intimate dinner with the President Donald J. Trump and Melania Trump” on January 19 is considered “the pinnacle [inauguration] event,” for those who personally cut a check for $1 million or raised $2 million. Those people will also receive six tickets each to attend the actual swearing-in ceremony on January 20. Other perks for deep-pocketed philanthropists according to the report includes a reception with Trump’s Cabinet nominees and a private dinner with J.D. Vance and his wife. Sponsors who donate between 50,000 and 1 million USD will also receive tickets to attend the “Starlight Ball” on inauguration night, according to Axios.
Trump’s second inaugural committee is headed by a billionaire Steven Witkoff—who was recently appointed special envoy to the Middle East—and former Republican senator Kelly Loeffler. Like time noted, “Trump’s first inaugural committee, which was investigated by federal prosecutors for illegal foreign donations and resulted in a 12-year prison sentence for one donor, mobilized Raised $107 million in 2016 and 2017.”
For her part, Melania’s willingness to attend the inauguration night dinner does not appear to be a sign that she will take on the regular duties of first lady for the next four years. Last month, CNN reported that she “is unlikely to move to Washington full-time during her second stint as first lady,” and that she instead “expects to spend most of her time over the next four years away from the House White in the middle of New York.” City and Palm Beach, Florida.”
