My Hero Academia Doesn’t Need a Sequel After Its End

All great things must come to an end. After 10 long years of continuous publication, the manga My Hero Academia finally finished. In fact, by the time you read this, the final chapter of the manga may have already come out in your area! Looking at the current state of the anime, it won’t be long until it ends. But when all is said and done, My Hero Academia no need for sequel after ending.

One of the first thoughts of fans and even creators when a property as popular as My Hero Academia The ending is, “What’s next?” Usually, this leads to speculation and eventual announcement of a spin-off or sequel. But This series don’t need any of that. i believe it’s fine to leave it as is.

Although the temptation may have been to Shueisha and even the series’ author Kohei Horikoshi, My Hero Academia it would be better not to go down Naruto And Boruto route. This is largely due to the fact that the series ends on a pretty solid note. I won’t go into spoilers here, but we do get a satisfying conclusion and closure to the battles that have been going on since the series began.

Additionally, I really like the complete nature of Deku’s particular character arc. The series remembers how it started, and Horikoshi honors that with how it ends. For me, at least, it’s a completely satisfying ending unlike some other manga and anime in recent memory. Continuing it with a sequel or “new generation of heroes” almost feels like a disgrace to that.

Even beyond that, My Hero Academia In a way, it feels like a sequel. Deku’s journey to fulfill his promise to become the world’s number one hero is actually very different from other shonen characters like Naruto Uzumaki. In Naruto’s case, there’s a legacy and history that precedes him, but he’s almost a standalone hero from scratch. We see Naruto rise up alongside the other members of Team 7, go through trials and tribulations, and cement himself in history as world changers. Then we see his son Boruto take power and follow in his footsteps, “finishing the fight” against the Otsutsuki, so to speak.

In a way, My Hero Academia feels like the story is told in Boruto more than the inside NarutoIn this world of manga and anime, All Might To be Naruto. The entire series reminds Deku and everyone else of All Might’s greatness. How he changed everything about superheroes and even defeated the mighty All for One. In this way, Deku—and most everyone else—goes through the series in All Might’s shadow. This is quite similar to how Boruto relates to his father.

This goes pretty deep too. After all, there’s also Shigaraki. While Shigaraki is the “big bad” of the series, he shares that role with All for One, who isn’t new. This is the same villain that All Might took down before. So you have the theme of a threat returning from the past along with the “next generation” trying to end the war. My Hero Academia has been like a sequel in everything but name. So having a sequel or “next generation” of superheroes after Deku and the others almost feels redundant and unnecessary.

Any potential sequel My Hero Academia would also have to create a new threat that arises after the original series ends. It’s likely that this new threat or conflict will be less impactful, derivative, or forced. If anything, perhaps the best way to continue this series is to eventually tell All Might’s entire story as a prequel. But a My Hero Academia A sequel with the return of the characters or their descendants would just be disrespectful to what Horikoshi achieved with this series.
