The Shade Room previously reported that Nelly would perform at Donald Trump’s inauguration ball on Monday, January 20. The news first broke when CBS reporter Taurean Smalls shared it on X (formerly Twitter) on January 17.

Now, host St. Louis is explaining his decision to join the celebration for Donnie. Nelly joins the rapper Willie D for a YouTube chat where he mentioned his choice – sparking many reactions on social media.

In the video interview, Nelly made it clear that he did not perform at Trump’s inaugural ball to make money.

“I don’t do this for money. I’m doing this because it’s one [honor]. I respect the office. It doesn’t matter who is in power. The same way our men and women, our brothers and sisters, the defenders of this country, must go to war and put their lives at risk for whoever is in charge. rights.
