New Magic Knight Rayearth Anime Announced for 30th Anniversary
On the occasion of the 30th anniversary Rayearth Magic Knight anime, CLAMP has announced a new series for it. A key visual and promotional film for it will appear at the CLAMP Expo on July 3, 2024.
Even if you can’t make it to the CLAMP Exhibition, Rayearth Magic Knight Account X (Twitter) will post updates. For reference, CLAMP Manga Art Exhibition will run from July 3 to September 23, 2024. The exhibition will feature over 800 original manga artworks from 23 different series, including Rayearth Magic Knight.

The one and a half minute long film begins with a compilation of the original anime, which aired from October 1994 to November 1995. It then shows new versions of the three main characters: Hikaru Shidou, Umi Ryuuzaki, and Fuu Hououji. The final shot of their backs is also the new image shared by account X.
Rayearth Magic Knight follows three modern-day eighth-grade Japanese girls who find themselves in the fantasy world of Cephiro. They awaken with magical powers, learn to work together, and become friends as they journey to save Princess Emeraude, who is a Pillar needed to maintain Cephiro. It began as a manga series and in addition to an anime adaptation, there has also been an OVA and several video games.
