Nicki Minaj and Birdman speak out about Super Bowl Headliner

On Monday (September 9), Nicki Minaj took to X (formerly Twitter) to praise Lil Wayne’s career and contributions to her and Drake’s careers. Her comments come amid a growing conversation about Lil Wayne being passed over as the Super Bowl’s main host. Whether he was ever a choice or given the opportunity remains unclear. Wayne has yet to publicly react to Lamar taking the stage.

“Denying a young black man what he deserves to put into this game for no other reason than your ego. Your hatred of BIRDMAN, Drake & Nicki makes you punish Lil Wayne?!?!!! LIL WAYNE!!!!!!!!!! GOAT?!!!!!!!!!!!!! NOLA what good?!!!!!! Eminem is adamant about 50Cent coming out. A white man. Shit, sad. House N****R TINGZ. but it’s GOOD FI DEM!!!!!!! Disloyal? As mentioned, she also revealed how Wayne brought her and Drake into the group without official paperwork, from having them perform on his tour to being involved in her remixes.

“This man literally changed the FACE of hip hop. Hair too. IYKYK. He inspired so many people to get face tattoos and hair. Inspired your favorite people to want to be a great MC. He never did it for the money. He always did it for the love of the music,” Nicki added.

Additional Articles from Nicki Minaj’s X timeline shows her referring to someone as “mean,” “evil,” and “disgusting.” Furthermore, she declared that one man was “on his knees” while another was “grabbing a bag.” However, she did not specify who her message was about.

Hours later, Nicki returned to continue her disdain for Wayne and continued to criticize an unnamed person.

“God forbid if Wayne left this earth right now, the culture would be in mourning. That’s why so many people keep saying give our legends their flowers while they’re still here to smell them. Sitting around all day playing games with people’s lives and legacies. God doesn’t sleep. Gee Roberson, you’re gonna learn that too. Very soon,” she wrote. Adding, “Wanting niggas to suck my c**k for a Grammy. Wanting niggas to suck my c**k for a halftime show. LOL. Glad I did. LMFAO. Threatening any store that shows me love. NIGLET IF YOU DON’T GO AWAY.”

Birdman X also shared his thoughts on Kendrick’s rise in the NFL. He implied that he would make sure he, Nicki, Drake, and Lil Wayne were respected, but didn’t explain how. “I hate it,” he wrote in a second post.

“YOU ALL ARE ACTING LIKE THIS IS REAL WITH THE WAY THEY PLAY WITH SUPERBOWL SMH THE MOST CULTURAL CITY IN THE USA (NEW ORLEANS) IS A LEAN ON THE FACE FOR EVERY HIP HOP LEGENDS FROM LOUISIANA ‼️

However, she also believed that Tunechi should be chosen. “Ion care, it’s a bit messy,” she wrote on X. Then she challenge industry peers to speak up before joking about personally speaking with Jay-Z and Beyoncé about choosing the Super Bowl’s headliner.
