NieR’s reborn artbook is reminiscent of the mobile game


Kadokawa does release an art book featuring the illustrations and scripts of the now-defunct mobile game NieR reborn. The title of the book is NieR Re[in]carnation Collection of Official Documents – The Story of Prayer and the Cage. It is available physically and digitally in Japan for 4,950 yen (~$32.65).

The B5 size book has a total of 528 pages. In addition to the illustrations and character designs, NieR reborn The artbook also contains scripts for many of the stories included in the game, from the main story to individual stories for each character and weapon. The book even includes scenarios from episodes that Square Enix never added to the actual game.

The final pages of the book contain an in-universe chronology and excerpts from the Lost Archives. These segments also include all the NieR entries in the series are released in 2024.

Those outside Japan may have to overcome many hurdles to get their hands on the book. Most online stores in Japan that sell books can only ship domestically, and digital editions on BookWalker are also geo-locked so they can only be purchased in Japan. Kindle e-books can be sold internationally through Amazon Japan.
