Switch Joy-Con are pretty easy to charge, but the problem is that you have to attach them to the system. With that in mind, Nintendo has announced the new Switch Joy-Con Charging Dock, which allows for easy charging of these controllers without the console.
This new accessory will be available in Japan on October 17, 2024 because 3,300 Yen (about $21 USD) and is now available at this location for pre-order via My Nintendo Store.
It can charge the Joy-Con vertically, or you can remove the stand, turning it into a controller. Notably, you can also charge the Famicom controller wirelessly, which is only available in Japan and can be used with the Switch Online Famicom library.
Here is a picture of this new accessory along with a translated description:
“You can easily charge the Joy-Con at any time without having to attach it to the Nintendo Switch console. This is recommended for people who have multiple Joy-Con, such as when you want to charge the number of Joy-Con for everyone to play games like the “Mario Party” or “Nintendo Switch Sports” series, or when you want to charge the Joy-Con you are not using when playing in portable mode.
