We’re quickly approaching GOTY season, so it’s time to get going and look back at the best of September in this month’s edition of eShop Selects.
Wait, what do you mean “a brand new one” Zelda game came out last month”? We know, don’t worry — but what about all those eShop exclusives? We’re taking a look at September’s eShop releases, and here’s another one. It’s not surprising that August’s Readers’ Choice is an eShop game that was left out of the Nintendo Direct double bill that we couldn’t make time for — Peglin! Another eShop gem, Pizza Towertop in votes but we got it Our review Regardless, a Peggle-inspired roguelike sounds like it’s just for the colder months.
With that out of the way, it’s time to review September’s matches…

Everything in September’s poll received at least an 8/10 from us – that’s one very Finally a good month. But we have a few notes. We are really excited about Bloomtown: Another storySo we’re happy that this turn-based, casual RPG lived up to the hype. Inspired by Persona, Pokémon, and countless other classic RPGs, Bloomtown takes the classic genre and sets it in the ’60s. And it’s all the better for it.
Side quests, story, excellent gameplay, all wrapped up in adorable pixel art? We scored that goal deservedly 8/10 in our review.
