Nintendo sues Streamer for allegedly broadcasting “pirated” Switch games before their official release
Nintendo has filed a lawsuit against an individual who appears to have “repeatedly streamed pirated and emulated Switch games” while promoting “Switch emulators and other pirated tools” to its audience .
EQUAL highlighted by 404 MediaJesse Keighin (known online as ‘EveryGameGuru’) is said to have “caught Nintendo’s attention” after he refused to comply with the video game giant.
Keighin allegedly escalated the situation by continuing to stream Switch games (including new titles before they were released), monetized his video content and even “bragged” about his actions in a letter to the Japanese company.

The most recent example of this was last month when Keighin was said to have gone live Mario & Luigi: Brotherly love on “YouTube and other platforms”.
The lawsuit further claims that he “streamed gameplay footage” of many new games on “at least fifty occasions” before they were made available to the public:
“At least 50 times over the past two years, Defendants streamed gameplay footage featuring pirated copies of at least 10 different Nintendo games without permission — all before those titles were released. public”
According to the lawsuit, he also previously told Nintendo that he would “actively help people find newer and updated copies” of popular Nintendo emulators, and allegedly offered to help people play Switch games “on their PC” without having to officially buy a Switch. hardware.
Nintendo is currently “looking 150,000 USD per copyright infringement” and taking into account “at least 50 times in the past two years”, this totaled up to $7.5 million.
