One of Greece’s most popular islands will get a JW Marriott resort this year
It may be the first days of January, but it’s never too early to start preparing for summer. And this coming August, Marriott Bonvoy Loyalists – and those who just want to go to Greece – can look forward to the first JW Marriott resort on Crete.
Currently accepting reservations for stays starting on or after August 1, 2025, JW Marriott Crete Resort & Spa located on Marathi Beach near Chania city. The nearest airports are nearby Chania Airport (CHQ), serving mainly domestic flights, and Heraklion International Airport (HER), Crete’s major international airport, about two hours away by car .
The newly built resort sits on more than 100 acres of land and will feature 160 rooms, suites and villas designed to look modern and elegant, with layers of “authentic Cretan heritage” woven throughout throughout. For guests in suites and villas, expect a private pool or hot tub.
Food and beverage offerings at JW Marriott Crete will include a beachfront Cretan restaurant, an upscale seafood restaurant, an Italian restaurant open for dinner, a buffet and an a la carte Mediterranean restaurant Open all day – along with both the pool bar and main bar.
Throughout the resort, there will be plenty to do, including relaxing around the many pools or sunbathing at Marathi Beach, heading to Anoseas Spa for a massage or other treatment, and soaking in the beauty of Greece. Lap.

How to make a reservation:
Bookings are now available for stays from August 1, 2025 onwards, with the lowest cash rate late in the season in October for around $290 per night. Unfortunately, Marriott Bonvoy points rates are not yet available.
