Past Life Finally Reappears Oshi no Ko Episode 8

A lot has happened in the last few episodes of the series. Oshi no Ko comic. IN episode 6the focus is on character development along the way Tokyo Blade play. As we read through episode 7, we helped Aqua come to terms with his injuries and the possibility that he didn’t need to live for revenge. Sometimes the transitions between arcs in the sequence can feel blurry, but this one is very clear. This is interesting, because now in episode 8 belong to Oshi no Ko The manga’s focus eventually shifts back to Ruby’s past life and to Ruby and Aqua as well.

Editor’s note: There will be some mild spoilers Oshi no Kospecifically volume 8 of the manga and Ruby and Aqua’s past lives, below.

Okay, so now this isn’t a spoiler. But stay Oshi no KoBoth Ruby and Aqua are reincarnated characters who knew each other in their previous lives. Before becoming Ai’s children, they met each other in Miyazaki town. Ruby is a young woman named Sarina Tendouji, dying of cancer. Aqua is Dr. Gorou Amamiya, an obstetrician who was by Ai’s side during her pregnancy, but also took care of Sarina because her parents were not present. They both died at the same time, Sarina from her illness and Gorou from someone with evil intentions attached to Ai.

The thing is, that element diminished a bit when the focus shifted to their new lives as siblings Aqua and Ruby. They both know they are reincarnated individuals. They both also know that they have a connection and love for Ai. They don’t know their sibling is actually the person they knew in their previous life. But after episode 1, it seems like that. That’s right, Aqua’s past identity is helping motivate him to pursue revenge for Ai’s murder. But we don’t learn any more about Gorou.

So returning to both of these characters through flashbacks and references to these past lives in Oshi no Ko episode 8 is a welcome opportunity. Because now the new B-Komachi is about to go to Miyazaki to shoot a video, both Aqua and Ruby are thinking about what used to happen. In Aqua’s case, he was trying to find out if anyone realized what happened when Gorou was killed. As for Ruby, she is also looking for Gorou while reminiscing about how much the doctor means to her. There are some great solutions for both in this regard, and that especially means some new developments and opportunities for us to see Ruby as something other than the eternally optimistic and happy.

I also like how there’s something a little different in Oshi no Ko episode 8. There’s something a little supernatural here. Again, I won’t reveal such major revelations. However, given the circumstances behind Sarina and Gorou’s deaths, and the fact that they both happened to be reincarnated as Ai’s children and siblings, it always felt like something was going on. With this episode, there’s another hint that there will be something more after everyone arrives and Miyazaki, and I can’t wait to see how that plays out.

Basically, I’m happy Oshi no Ko is returning to Ruby and Aqua’s past lives with volume 8 of the manga. There’s a lot of unexplored potential there. Unanswered questions too! It feels like now that the Tokyo Blade arc is over, we’ll finally get to see more from Ruby and additional insights into the characters and what’s going on.

Oshi no Ko episode 8 is available now and Yen Bao will release the 9th volume of the manga on February 18, 2025. The anime is streamed on HIDIVE. Part 3 is in development.
