Poll: So will you get the Monster Hunter story for Switch?

Capcom’s 3DS title The story of a monster hunter returns this week as a new remastered release for Nintendo Switch.

It is now fully voiced and comes with a Museum mode, allowing players to view over 200 pieces of concept art and listen to additional soundtrack. The game’s existing updates are also included, making this version a bit more complete than the original. Although it’s worth noting Zelda DLC is not included in this new pack.

With all this in mind, we wonder who in our Nintendo Life community will pick up this game this week. So, vote in our poll and leave a comment below.

I loved this game on the 3DS, but now that they’ve confirmed the Switch won’t have Zelda or Puzzle & Dragons content, I’ll be using Steam for a performance boost.

I might get this but it will be later because there are other games I want since my birthday is next week and I’m trying to get Paper Mario: TYD…if I can.

So it’s not really that I don’t want to get it but just for priority purposes. Additionally, I also intend to buy MH Stories 2. Just a standalone physical release.

Are you afraid the “get it on PS5” option is too common?

I already have the 3DS version and it’s good enough for me.

The new version doesn’t have enough new features to justify the double drop. And honestly, the game’s relatively chill pace feels more comfortable on the 3DS.

Final. But I have the original so I’m in no rush.

I played it on the 3DS and didn’t like it much. I’ll pass. This month will be devoted to SMTV: Vengeance.

I like Stories more than the mainline games, but that’s not saying much since I don’t like those games.

I quite liked it on the DS, but my son played it more than I did. He prefers Pokemon so I think this would be a no-go for us.

Original amiibo is not available for cheap, it is impossible to get it. Sorry Capcom

Having played this game but not the sequel, I plan to buy this bundle on PlayStation when it goes on sale! I really liked the first game so I’m sure his sequel will be more interesting, I definitely recommend this game if you like RPGs and monster hunters.

I’ve tried Monster Hunter a few times and always end up buying it. Unfortunately, not my cup of tea, but I’m grateful that they’re bucking the trend of porting 3DS games. Lots of good things in that library.

Played this game to death on 3DS so won’t be double dipped. Definitely recommended for those who haven’t played it yet.

They missed this opportunity for me. If they had ported it to Switch before the sequel came out I probably would have bought and played it first but I don’t like playing 1 after playing 2.

@obijuankanoobie The story is a very different game. Obviously it looks cuter but it’s more like Pokemon so it can’t really be compared to the mainstream games.

Definitely get it, but since it’s Capcom we’re talking about, playing the waiting game and waiting for a steep discount is the better strategy for my budget.

I have already pre-ordered it. I’m excited to be able to play this game again with the un-localized updates on the 3DS version.

Actually I’d rather get the PS4 version for better performance (60 fps is better on PS5) but I really hope Capcom will offer the second game as a separate disc like Megaman Collection’s them on PS4 for the Asian version.

@Broosh It was a beaten, dead horse. They release on multiple platforms now, and everyone knows Nintendo doesn’t like seeing any of their IPs on other platforms. That’s why Zelda content is missing.
Although maybe they just added it to the Switch version.
