“The Six Senses Grand Bahama master plan represents our commitment to creating a vibrant, year-round community, with canals and waterways providing a unique version of a front porch,” Neil Jacobs, CEO of Six Senses, said in a statement. “The integration of purposefully designed and efficiently built structures within the majestic natural landscape creates a framework for guests to connect or disconnect, explore or escape, allowing sun-drenched lunches to fall into dinner, and access to a full range of crafted experiences and wellness programs. Sustainability and restoration measures underpin the plan, ensuring its viability for years to come.”
Six Senses Properties Known for its wellness and beauty offerings and locally sourced ingredients, we’re excited to see what seafood masterpieces will emerge from the future kitchens at Six Senses Grand Bahama. In addition to gourmet dining and lavish spa treatments, future Six Senses guests can also look forward to event spaces, a beach club and an oceanfront pool to soak up the stunning ocean and canal views.
This 50-acre Gensler-designed resort is meant to blend in with the surrounding landscape, so don’t expect any massive hotel towers here. Instead, the villas blend in with the palm trees and sandy shores, while the entire property is meant to celebrate the Grand Bahamian culture and Lucayan heritage of the island.
“We have assembled a world-class design team, with Olson Kundig working on the residences and Gensler working on the resort,” Marc Weller, founding partner and president of Weller Development Partners, said in a statement. “The architectural design and masterplan reflect the core values of our partnership with Six Senses and our shared focus on wellness, sustainable design, and connection to nature and community. We believe Six Senses Grand Bahama has the potential to set a new benchmark for ecotourism and sustainable living in The Bahamas and the Caribbean, not only through its design, but also through its operations and programming.”
