Queen Camilla and ex-husband Andrew Parker Bowles reunite over food and family


Food brings people together, even royalty. Queen Camilla and her ex-husband, Andrew Parker Bowles They were both present on Thursday evening in London to celebrate the publication of their son’s book. Tom Parker Bowlescookbook of, Cooking and the Crown: Royal Recipes from Queen Victoria to King Charles III.

In one toast at book launchTom thanked his mother and family for supporting his latest book, including Charles.

“Thank you to the King and Queen, my mother, and of course the King, without whom this book would not have been possible,” he said. “Without their support, their understanding, their help, the rest of it—so thank you very much, Your Majesty.”

Tom is a food writer. with a weekly column in Daily mail and is the author of several cookbooks and other culinary books. His latest cookbook, which features recipes such as “The King’s Wet Martini” and “Buckingham Palace Mutton Pies,” will be published on September 26 in the UK and October 22 in the US.

“Yes, they say write about what you (may) know,” Tom joked about X. (formerly Twitter) in 2023 when it announced a royal cookbook.

“As a food history enthusiast, I cannot express the excitement I felt writing this book,” Tom said Town and countryside last spring. “To read the original recipes in the royal archives at Windsor, and disappear into the lives and reigns (and eating habits) of monarchs from Queen Victoria onwards. But this isn’t about roast swans, ortolans, and plovers stuffed with foie gras–it’s a real cookbook, filled with recipes I love to cook. And hope you do too.”
