Random: Bull-Airs’ Nintendo-Inspired Sneakers Are Absolutely Awesome

New York City-based athletic footwear and apparel company Bull-Airs recently released aretro inspired collection There’s a lot of talk about Nintendo’s classic consoles and a new batch of pre-orders going live this Friday (thanks, GoNintendo!).

The sneakers come in four different varieties, each inspired by the colorways and typography used on each console. Most of these have been available before—in fact, back in July!—but this re-release includes a brand-new colorway.

The Shoe Boy Color resembles a purple GBC (which is the best, of course); the Family Computer is cream and red, like the Famicom, with a small logo on the check mark; the Classic Console resembles the NES, mimicking the Nintendo logo with Bull-Airs in the middle; and the Shoe Boy resembles the Color, except for the Game Boy. Along with the shoes, there’s an NES-inspired crewneck (though it doesn’t look like it’ll be back on the 16th) and a Captain N Varsity jacket (which is available now).

We love the details on all the shoes—especially the Game Boy-inspired shoe with its green screen and pixelated markings, and the Classic Console’s tongue with its NES-inspired case. You might be wondering Why The vestiges are there because it’s a Nike product, but Bull-Airs repurposes old Nike shoes to create these super cool custom designs.

Pre-order for open shoes Friday, August 16, 2024and each pair of sneakers will set you back a pretty penny at $350.00 a pair. The jacket is $99.00, as is the crewneck — and hopefully the latter will be added at some point. The Classic Gaming collection will be available for Pre-order Online.

Look, style doesn’t come cheap—especially retro-inspired video game fashion. Bull-Airs is constantly designing custom shoes and collaborating with major brands, and while we doubt the Big N knows about these shoes, they’re still a great homage to ’90s video games.
