Random: Geez, ‘Anime Life Sim’ PS5 Game Sure Looks Familiar
This year marks five years since the last mainstream Animal pass game launched. Animal Crossing: New Horizons came out at the perfect time and was a huge hit around the world. But with the 5th anniversary of its launch fast approaching, we’re sure a lot of fans are pushing hard to get their hands on the new game.
So if you were browsing the PlayStation Store over the weekend and thought you spotted an Animal Crossing gamer, no, your eyes aren’t deceiving you. As our friends in Good Vibes gaming pointed out that there’s a game out there that looks a lot like Animal Crossing.
Anime Life Simthat is appears to launch in February 2026doesn’t even try to hide the similarities it shares with Nintendo’s popular life sim series. It promises to let you “Create your perfect anime life” by building “your dream home” making animal friends and going on adventures. You can go fishing, collect fossils, catch bugs, grow flowers, and craft items. You can even run your own store and organize events in town.
Okay, so there are some differences there – after all, Animal Crossing didn’t invent the life sim genre. But most of us aren’t talking about gameplay; just a glance at the screenshot will tell you everything you need to know.
The grass texture and the character’s eye shape take a lot of cues from Animal Crossing, as do some of the animal inhabitants. Wolf, bear, and moose villagers are reminiscent of their AC equivalents – even if the moose has huge gauze. How did it get through the doors?
However, as GVG highlights, there are other warning signs in some of the screenshots. Specifically, some images and characters look like they were created by AI.
Let’s take a photo on the left, below – the one on the right looks like an oven or an oven, but there are things on the “device” that do not fit our idea of an oven at all. The table in the back is also completely shapeless, with chairs and wood overlapping each other.
Then the image on the right – we don’t know what’s on the shelf on the right, but the most noticeable thing is the character’s eyes. They have completely different shapes.
Publisher and developer Maksym Vysochanskyy trading as IndieGames3000 (yes, that’s the name) is somewhat famous for this type of “asset flipping”. Just a few months ago, one Monster Hunter clone arrives on the PlayStation store. And if you look for them about PS incentivesYou will discover other gems like Manage TCG card store, Anime girls’ military attackAnd City bus driving simulator.
In fact, we recognized some of the games on the list above, and it just so happens that some of them are also available on the Switch eShop, albeit under different publisher names.
Rainbow Ascension: Anime Girls Go Up published by BurleaGamesStudio. The tycoon reborn the city during World War II And Cyberpunk speed assassin both are available thanks to Tashlik. And SimulaMaker has brought us interesting things like Pet clinic simulator and the above mentioned Anime girls’ military attack.
We’ve only scratched the surface here – Restaurant Tycoon Simulator uses different thumbnails but screenshots are identical between each PSN page and eShop oneFor example. Their sheer number still surprises us.
We’re sure that Anime Life Sim won’t have an expected 2026 release date – after all, that Monster Hunter clone was pulled from PSN and other examples like That Last of Us imitator and Unzip the copy have all been taken down. But as a warning, be careful out there, everyone.
Thanks again to Good Vibes Gaming for bringing this issue to our attention!
