Rayman creator Michel Ancel confirmed his participation in the new Ubisoft project

Afterward Ubisoft confirmed that Michel Ancel will be an advisor on its new one Rayman project last month, the series creator has now admitted this in an Instagram post.

He mentioned he was “happy to consult” and confirmed that it was “nice” to know Rayman and his friends would return. Ancel also took this opportunity to talk a little about the recently disbanded development team behind it Prince of Persia: The lost crown – calls for a “worthy sequel”:

“As for the Lost Crown POP team, let’s hope they can reform and produce a worthy sequel. Ubisoft [sic] realize that the success of such a project is tied to the birth of a strong team. This is invaluable. Maybe one day leaders will understand this!”

Ubisoft has confirmed the involvement of Ubisoft Montpellier with this new Rayman project (same developer worked on The Lost Crown). Ubisoft Milan has also begun work on this new “Exploration Phase” of the Rayman franchise.

This update follows on from Ancel stay away from the gaming industry after more than 30 years in September 2020. He was was accused of “toxic leadership” soon after and refuted these claims at the time, call it “fake news”.
