Redeem Choice Hotels Sweet Spot Rewards

In 2022, Choice Hotels launched the Sweet Spot Rewards promotion. This promotion allows Choice Members enjoy discounted nights at featured hotels during certain stays.

The previous version of this promotion ended nearly two months ago, but Choice Privileges recently launched a new range of properties in some of the hottest locations for stays through November 30. Here’s what you need to know to make the most of Choice Hotels’ Sweet Spot Rewards program.

Choice Sweet Spot Reward Attribute

Choice Privileges doesn’t have a typical award chart, nor does it use standard dynamic pricing. Instead, Choice sets award levels for each hotel based on the date range and day of the week you stay. But thanks to the Sweet Spot Rewards promotion, Choice Privileges members can book discounted reward nights at select hotels for stays through November 30.

The current promotion divides the properties by vacation type, so I will do so. The following sections explain Featured Hotel and discounted redemption rates through Choice Hotels’ Sweet Spot Rewards program.

6 beach properties

• Myrtle Beach, South Carolina: Country Inn & Suites By Radisson, Myrtle Beach, SC for 16,000 points per night Sunday through Thursday and 25,000 points per night Friday through Saturday
• Fernandina Beach, Florida: Surf and sand Fernandina Beach at Amelia Island, Ascend Hotel Collection for 20,000 points per night Sunday through Thursday and 25,000 points per night Friday through Saturday

You can book multiple room types with Choice points at most properties. For example, you can book an ocean view room at the Radisson Resort Miami Beach for the same number of points as a standard room.

At Atlantis Family Waterpark Hotel, Ascend Hotel Collection, you can even book a room with two queen beds and two single bunk beds that can sleep up to six adults when Choice Points Exchange.

And at the Clarion Inn & Suites Across From Universal Orlando Resort, you can book a suite with two queen beds that can sleep six adults for just 10,000 points per night on weekdays.

You can book a variety of rooms when you redeem Choice points at these three casino hotels. For example, you can book several deluxe and river view rooms with points at L’Auberge Casino Hotel Baton Rouge.

• Somerville, Massachusetts: Cambria Hotel Boston Somerville for 30,000 points per night
• Chicago: Radisson Blu Aqua Hotel, Chicago for 30,000 points per night Sunday through Thursday and 35,000 points per night Friday through Saturday

4 hotels in international locations

• Stratford Upon Avon, United Kingdom: Clarion Hotel Charlecote Pheasant for 10,000 points per night Sunday through Thursday and 12,000 points per night Friday through Saturday
• Levis, Quebec: Quality Inn & Suites for 20,000 points per night Sunday through Thursday and 25,000 points per night Friday through Saturday
• Kelowna, British Columbia: Comfort Suite room price 25,000 points/night
• Roissy in France, France: Clarion Paris CDG Airport at 35,000 points per night

Most guests don’t rate the Clarion Paris CDG Airport highly, with only 14% of past guests recommending it. But it does offer a variety of rooms you can book with points, including a two-bedroom apartment with a balcony.

How to earn Choice points

If you want Earn Choice Points quickly, you can transfer American Express Membership Rewards points and Capital One Miles to Select at a 1:1 ratio. Select cardholders Citi Credit Card can be transferred Citi ThankYou Rewards point to Choice at a more attractive ratio of 1:2 and you can also Wells Fargo Rewards Points Transfer with Citi at a ratio of 1:2.

If you don’t need Choice points right away, you may want to open Choice Benefits® Choose Mastercard® ($95 annual fee; see prices and fees) or Mastercard® Choice Privileges® Card (no annual fee; see prices and fees) — or a card that Earn transferable rewards mentioned above — and meet the minimum spending requirements to earn the welcome bonus.

You can also earn Choice points through other methods, including Choice Privileges Eat & Earn Dining Program. If you are going on a paid holiday with Choice, check to see if there are any current hotel promotions can increase your income.

The Sweet Spot Rewards list is worth checking out whenever Choice announces a new round of standout hotels.

This round, you’ll find some great options in the list of properties you can book at discounted rates for stays through November 30, including several award-winning properties that have been highly rated by previous guests. For example, the Cambria Hotel Boston Somerville, Comfort Inn & Suites Russellville I-40, and Quality Inn & Suites Stoughton — Madison South all earned Gold Awards, which are given to top hotels based primarily on “Likelihood to Recommend” scores from previous guests. Meanwhile, Quality Inn & Suites in Canada earned a Platinum Award, which is reserved for hotels with even higher “Likelihood to Recommend” scores.

TPG August 2024 valuation pegs the value of Choice points at 0.6 cents per point, so 10,000 points are worth about $60 and 25,000 points are worth about $150. Even hotels that cost 35,000 points per night only require you to redeem around $210 in points per night—which can be a great deal for some destinations and room types.
