Revived Infogrames Label Acquires ‘Surgeon Simulator’ Franchise
Infogrames, the newly revived publishing label and subsidiary of Atari, has announced that it has acquired Surgeon simulator franchise after completing an agreement with tinyBuild Inc.
This follows the previous acquisition of Completely reliable delivery service back in April 2024, which was announced to coincide with Infograme’s revival. As for Surgeon Simulator, there’s currently only one entry available on Switch, titled CPR surgeon simulator (co-op play ready). The original game launched in 2013 with a direct sequel in 2020 for PC and 2021 for Xbox.
Infogrames Director, Geoffroy Châteauvieux, stated the following:
“More than 10 years after the original release, Surgeon simulator remains a popular and unique franchise. This is a rare opportunity to acquire a game with timeless appeal, and we’re delighted to have it. Surgeon simulator in the Infogrames category.”
As part of the acquisition, Infogrames will look to expand the reach of the current Surgeon Simulator game, explore the possibility of new entries in the franchise, and leverage brand and product collaborations. to ‘maintain and expand the franchise’.
Atari also recently acquired the Intellivision brand along with over 200 games. It’s not yet known what the long-term plans are with this acquisition, but developer Digital Eclipse will explore the console war between the Atari 2600 and Intellivision with the newly announced release. Atari 50: Extended Edition Celebration. It will add two new timelines to the game along with 39 playable titles.
