River City Girls 2 gets a free Double Dragon DLC update next week

WayForward announced Double Dragon DLC for River City Girls 2 will arrive next week on November 12, 2024. This is a free update available for all platforms including Switch. You can watch the official gameplay trailer above.

After a prank earlier this month, WayForward has now announced it Double Dragon DLC for its side-scrolling game River City Girls 2. That’s right, the “legendary” Billy and Jimmy Lee will return as playable characters in “premium DLC” this summer.
According to the PR, a free update will also be made available to all River City Girls 2 owners at the same time – adding a new Twin Dragon-themed motion comic, two new shops, new accessories and “more furthermore”. Here is some additional information about these characters and what you can expect from them in River City Girls 2:
“First debuted in the 1987 hit Double Dragon video game, Billy and Jimmy Lee (not to be confused with Bimmy and Jammy) are two of the most requested playable characters in River City Girls 2 since the game’s launch.
The twin brothers join the action as special fighters, each with an incredible arsenal of punches, kicks, throws and special attacks, including moves features from their past adventures, such as the spin kick, raised knee, etc.
Both characters are also thoroughly integrated into River City Girls 2’s story mode, with full VOs from returning voice actors Dan Avidan (Billy) and Arin Hanson (Jimmy) of Game Grumps.
The DLC also adds an epic new song performed by Hanson and Avidan (with music by series composer Megan McDuffee), along with a new martial artist to replace Billy and Jimmy when they’re exhausted.
