“Nintendo assembler Hosiden is spending 2 billion yen on production equipment and 1 billion yen on automation in fiscal 3/25 for a major entertainment client (Nintendo). I still expect news in September and a March 2025 release for the next device.”
Nintendo has mentioned in previous statements how they are looking transfer of some systems (including accounts) to the next generation of hardware, so backward compatibility makes a lot of sense.
