Samsung’s new flagship soundbars have improved designs and AI features that I really want to use
CES 2025 It’s still in its early days, but home audio giant Samsung has announced two new soundbars to complement its new TV line. The soundbar launches with a refreshed design, the latest home audio technology, and AI-powered conversation enhancement features.
According to Samsung, the Samsung HW-Q990F flagship soundbar can deliver an 11.1.4-channel Dolby Atmos listening experience, complete with 11 front-facing speakers, a subwoofer, and four stereo channels.

The HW-Q990F has the same number of audio channels as its predecessor, but Samsung claims the HW-990F’s subwoofer is only half the size and produces more powerful sound. The improved subwoofer delivers clearer and richer sound.
Samsung also announced a mid-range soundbar, the HW-QS700F. The company touts the ability to be mounted or laid flat, giving it more flexibility to fit your space.
New soundbars are included eclipse sounda new spatial audio format created through a partnership between Samsung and Google. This open source audio format is expected to compete with Dolby Atmos and will not require manufacturers to pay licensing fees.
However, this feature is only available on compatible Samsung TVs and soundbars launched in the company’s 2025 lineup.

Additionally, Samsung announced Active Voice Amplifier Pro, the company’s latest AI-powered conversation enhancement software. This software is built on Active Voice Amplifier, which automatically increases conversation volume when ambient noise is detected. We can assume that Samsung has improved the algorithm that powers this feature to make it more reliable.
Samsung also improved its Q-Symphony surround sound feature, which combines compatible Samsung TV speakers and soundbars to enhance your listening experience. According to the company, Q-Symphony Pro will use AI to analyze audio through compatible Samsung TVs to provide even more detailed surround sound.
