Sega files the Skies of Arcadia and Eternal Arcadia brands
Sega has filed a trademark application for Arcadia skyalso known as Eternal Arcadia in Japan. Trademarks for both the Japanese and Japanese versions of the game abroad names were filed on January 16, 2025, and they were made public on January 24, 2025.
Chizai Watch’s database has registered trademarks for both games. However, there’s no further information on what Sega might do with this IP renewal.
Arcadia sky is one Turn-based role-playing game was originally released in Japan on October 5, 2000 for the Sega Dreamcast. The North American and European versions were later released on November 14, 2000 and April 27, 2001, respectively. The game was also ported to the Nintendo GameCube under the title Sky of Arcadia Legends. The port launched in Japan on December 26, 2002, North America on January 28, 2003, and in Europe on May 23, 2003.
The main character of the game is Vyse, a young pirate from the Blue Rogues faction who is fighting against the injustice of the Valuan Empire. After meeting Fina, an envoy of the Silver Civilization, Vyse and his crew embark on an adventure to help her collect the Moon Crystal before the Valuan Empire so they can awaken magical creatures. called Gigas to conquer the world.
Arcadia sky originally appeared for Dreamcast. The game also appeared on the GameCube under the title Sky of Arcadia Legends.
