Here’s what happened after NBA YoungBoy’s guilty plea
On Monday, November 18, TSR reported that NBA YoungBoy, formerly Kentrell Gauldenpleaded guilty to his role in a prescription drug fraud ring in Utah, according to investigators. Related press. The 25-year-old rapper pleaded guilty to two counts of third-degree identity fraud, two counts of felony forgery and six counts of illegal drug sales. He elected to plead “no contest” to the remaining charges.
KTVX-TX shared that four of his felonies were downgraded to misdemeanors. Instead of going to jail, YoungBoy will have to pay a fine of $25,000. Despite the charge of running a drug ring from home, the judge allowed him to return to his residence on November 18. District Judge Spencer Walsh suspended the prison sentence in this case, citing YoungBoy’s ongoing legal battle in the state. According to Judge Walsh, upon completion of his sentence for the federal charges, YoungBoy will be subject to five years of supervised probation. On Monday, the judge praised his talent and offered words of encouragement. YoungBoy responded to her statements with, “Thank.”
“I have seen many times that you have young men and women with a lot of talent and potential. That they can be robbed of that potential when they start to really struggle with their addiction. I don’t want that for you. You seem to be a very talented young man,” Judge Walsh said. “I hope, in your future, that after your release from federal prison, you can be truly successful on your federal probation and have a really bright future where you can make the most of your potential in every aspect of life. Good luck.”
