Singapore KrisFlyer Spontaneous Escapes: Great deals on flights to Europe


While Singapore Airlines With a reputation for offering exceptional products, booking premium class, long-haul awards with this airline is not easy. You can sometimes find award availability by using Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan or Air Canada AeroplanBut you will usually find more availability through Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer.

KrisFlyer typically counts more miles than other loyalty programs, even on Saver award days. However, the program offers discounts on selected award flights each month through KrisFlyer Escapes Naturally promotion.

You can currently book promotional award tickets for 30% off if you book before August 31 and travel between September 1 and 30. This month, you’ll see discounts on Saver award tickets to select destinations in the Singapore Airlines network.

KrisFlyer Spontaneous Escapes Itinerary Sample

Singapore KrisFlyer Spontaneous Escapes offers discounted reward flights on selected Singapore Airlines routes. However, only a limited number of flights are discounted each month, so you’ll usually only get the discount on one-way travel.

Discounted flights apply between Frankfurt Airport (FRA) and New York City’s John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK), Singapore Changi Airport (SIN) and Los Angeles International Airport (LAX), and SIN and San Francisco International Airport (SFO), and from SIN to JFK and from Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR) to SIN.

Remember, you still have to search for available rewards on the KrisFlyer website. Promotional rewards may not be available on certain days — even days that aren’t listed as blackout dates. When you search, you’ll see discounted rewards listed as “promotional” if they are available.

Additionally, all flights on your itinerary must be eligible for the promotion to get the discounted price, so if there is a promotional reward for only one direction of your trip, it’s best to book two one-way flights.

Be aware that flights departing from Europe are subject to higher taxes and fees than flights departing from the U.S. Expect to spend about 125 euros (about $137) per person in taxes and fees one way on transatlantic flights west.

Earn miles to book this award

It’s easy to earn Singapore KrisFlyer miles. The program is a 1:1 transfer partner with American Express Membership Rewards, Capital One Miles, Citi ThankYou Rewards And Chase Ultimate Rewards. KrisFlyer is also a 3:1 transfer partner with Marriott Bonvoy Hotelwith 5,000 bonus miles for every 60,000 points you transfer.

Please note that it may take up to 24 hours for rewards to be credited to your KrisFlyer account. If they do not appear immediately, consider calling KrisFlyer to reserve a prized seat until the miles are deposited. Doing so will lock in your award seat, so you won’t have to worry about running out of space. KrisFlyer typically charges service fee $25 or 2,500 miles to reserve an award seat.
