Solo PvE mode revealed, Open Network Test launches December 12 – PlayStation.Blog
Hello everyone, this is Yosuke Futami, producer of Ada’s Synchronized Echo. We can’t wait for all Drifters to start exploring Amasia in their Cradlecoffin rig with their trusty partner Magus by their side when the Open Network Test kicks off tomorrow!
If you’re new to Synduality, the game takes place in the year 2222. A poisonous rain has wiped out most of humanity and spawned horrifying, deformed monsters called Enders. The remnants of humanity are forced to live underground, scavenging the surface for resources in the safety of the Cradlecoffin – a bipedal machine about 20 feet tall. Of course, these mechs are extremely difficult for humans to pilot alone, so each Drifter is paired with an AI companion called a Magus. In the game, Magus will be both a physical companion and a digital projection to assist you during combat. Explore the ruins of Amasia to find vital resources to upgrade your base’s facilities, purchase or craft more powerful Cradlecoffin parts, and help humanity survive.
Just like in the anime, your partner Magus will be your most important companion and the only one you can truly trust in the world of Amasia. Your AI companion will learn and grow with you, helping you identify important parts of the map if you’re hunting for resources or ideal ambush spots if you’re hunting other Wanderers . Part of the fun of Synduality is that you never know what kind of Drifters will be exploring the surface at the same time as you – maybe you’ll get lucky and everyone decides to cooperate to harvest valuable resources and destroy them together. Tough enemies. Or perhaps one of the highest bounties will appear to clean up the other Cradlecoffins and take their hard-earned resources for himself. In Closed Network Testing earlier this year, we saw several Drifters safely reach the mining elevator only to have a group flip and claim the loot of his former companions for himself . I want to reiterate my point that your Magus is the only one you can truly trust in the Synduality Echo of Ada.
Talking about the previous Closed Network Test, our development team has been working hard to improve the game. As an exploitation shooter, there are some important core gameplay mechanics that new players may not be aware of, so we’ve included a helpful tutorial for players as they start the game first time. And because Synduality Echo of Ada is an online game, reducing player latency during raids was our main concern. We’re also working hard on weapon balance and PvE balance, so please join us in the Open Network Test to be able to give your own feedback! We received a lot of interesting user feedback from previous Closed Network Testing and survey responses from participants. This is extremely helpful for us as developers to ensure that Ada’s Synduality Echo launches in its best form.
Another thing revealed today is the game’s solo missions. We’ve included a PvE element so players can learn more about Synduality’s backstory – why the underground city of Amasia fell and how the Drifter and Magus are involved. Single-player missions won’t endanger any of the player’s equipment, but similarly, you won’t be able to keep any weapons you find. Players will also encounter special enemies and have to manage their resources more during these missions. Find diaries and records that together tell Amasia’s story through cutscenes, audio logs, etc. in the full game at launch.
This time in the Open Network Test (which starts tomorrow!) there are more garage options, Magus options and outfits, and weapons and equipment to test out. So whether you’ve been to the wasteland before or this is your first time at Amasia, we hope you’ll join us. Good luck out there, Drifter!
