Sonic 3 Composer Junkie XL Excited After Early Screening
The Sonic the Hedgehog 3 The film is approaching and it’s no surprise that those involved in making it have seen it since production wrapped earlier this year.
One of these individuals happens to be composer Tom Holkenborg (who you may also know as JunkieXL). In a recent interview with Collider, he talked a bit about the final product, calling it “really fun” and “fascinating”:
“Actually, I saw the movie for the first time yesterday. I know what the movie is about. I contacted the director, [Jeff Fowler]whom I have known for a long time. He used to work with [director] Tim Miller at Blur Studios. With Tim and Jeff, at that time, I did Deadpool And after that Terminator: Dark Fate and then, that was the first time Sound and then the second Sound and now it is tuesday Sound . This is a really interesting movie. It’s really engaging.”
Holkenborg also mentioned that his children were extremely excited about the third film and had seen the first two “probably 20, 30, 40 times”.
“I have two young boys, and it’s amazing for a composer when you can see a film that you actually worked on and they’re so excited about it. They’ve seen the first part and the second part maybe 20, 30, 40 times...So I really look forward to them seeing this movie later this year.”
In addition to the Sonic movies, Junkie XL has contributed to numerous video game soundtracks in the past including titles such as Need for speed and even The SimsJunkie XL will also be joined by Crush 40, which includes the return of Sonic Adventure 2 Song ‘Live and Learn’.
