Sonic Team’s producers say the revival of old entries remains appealing
Sonic X Dark Generation got off to a great start at launch last month, and Sega seems happy to continue reviving past entries, so what could happen next?
Appearing on a special panel at the recent Sonic fan meet in Indonesia, game producer Shun Nakamura was asked about opportunities to remake or remaster older games like Sonic ’06, audio hero, Audio Adventures 1 and 2 and even a third Sonic Adventure game.
EQUAL highlighted by Channel TailsNakamura clearly mentioned how old and new games are still engaging. He’s previously mentioned how he personally would like to see Sonic ’06 remade.
Creative director and character supervisor Kazuyuki Hoshino also reportedly mentioned how Sonic Team will continue to draw inspiration from past iterations of Sonic games in the future. This is in line with Sega’s comments on how it would convey Sonic’s history to pave the way for his future.
Just a few months ago, Sonic Team head Takashi Iizuka addressed the team’s situation Happy to consider fans’ requestsif there’s a particular Sonic game that people want to see return. And he mentioned it recently how could he be ready for a remaster belong to Advanced Sonic series.
