Today, I’m excited to share more about Version 3.0 “Paean of Era Nova,” launching on January 15. This update introduces the long-awaited world of Amphoreus and begins a new chapter epic in our main story. The Trailblaze mission in Amphoreus will be released in two parts across eight versions, from 3.0 to 3.7, making this the largest story arc in Honkai: Star Rail to date. Get ready to embark on “The Hero’s Journey” with new playable characters — Aglaea and The Herta, plus Trailblazer: Remembrance unlocks a new Path!

Amphoreus, the eternal land

Leaving the Festival Planet Penacony behind, the Astral Express heads for Amphoreus under the guidance of the Black Swan, seeking to replenish Trailblaze Fuel while exploring the mysteries of this celestial body — a hidden realm to the point that even Trailblaze’s Aeon, Akivili, is untouchable, its existence hidden from most of the universe. From the outside, Amphoreus appears as a whirlwind of chaos, its existence impossible to detect or understand. Likewise, its inhabitants remain completely ignorant of the outside universe. Unlike other worlds, they do not know the concept of “Aeons”, instead they worship gods called “Titans”. According to legend, twelve Titans created Amphoreus: Three weavers of destiny, three shape heaven and earth, three create life, and three bring disaster.”

However, the history of this kingdom is steeped in tragedy. In ancient times, the appearance of three Titans – “Strife”, “Death” and “Trickery” – caused a civil war among the gods. Soon after, a mysterious force known as the “black tide” swept across the world. No one knows its origin, but all life touched by it loses sanity, with even the mighty Titans proving vulnerable. Over millennia, as the dark tide gradually swallowed Amphoreus and the gods waged endless war, the world fell into eternal night. Now, in humanity’s last sanctuary – the Holy City of Okhema – only the protection of Kephale, the World-bearing Titan, is the last barrier against the dark tide. And now the Astral Express, arriving as an unexpected force from beyond this world, is destined to change the fate of Amphoreus, but how? Well, that’s something for you to find out, dear pioneers!

The beginning of the hero’s journey

As mentioned earlier, the Trailblaze Mission on Amphoreus will span eight editions, creating an epic and epic story. In the upcoming Version 3.0, you will officially set foot on this eternal land and embark on your own Hero’s Journey. Upon entering the Amphoreus, Trailblazer and Dan Heng first descended into an area known as the “Abyss of Destiny”. Through this encounter, the Forerunner embarks on the Path of Remembrance, gaining the ability to “draw strength from the past.” Meanwhile, players will meet a new companion who, due to its mysterious origin and tendency to only emit the sound “Mem”, is temporarily named “Mem”. In addition to her adorable appearance, Mem also plays an important role in combat. Trailblazer can summon Mem during battles, where it will gradually recharge its Energy. Once fully charged, it provides Mem Support allowing the designated character to immediately act and deal additional real DMG, turning the tide of battle. Together with Mem, Trailblazer will definitely overcome many challenges waiting in Amphoreus.

Following the winding path beyond the Abyss, players will reach Okhema, the Holy City built into the mountainside. Bathed in the eternal dawn of the World Titan’s protection, this city would serve as an important base for a pioneering expedition through the Amphoreus. Among its most distinctive landmarks is the Marmoreal Palace, a grand bathhouse. More than just a place to bathe and relax, it also serves as the heart of the city, a public gathering space that fosters daily social connections among residents. And Okhema has much more to offer than architectural marvels. Here, you will meet many types of fascinating creatures. Among them is dromas, the Amphoreans’ loyal helper, known for his power to carry both people and goods. Dromas is a creation of Georios, the Earth Titan, one of the Three Titans of the Order. You can find a specialized Dromas Workshop in Okhema, specializing in the crafting and training of these remarkable creatures. Scattered throughout the city, you will also find many chimeras, each with its own characteristics. Their colors, personalities, and temperaments vary widely—some get angry easily, others like to be mischievous, and still others help humans in any way they can.

In this time of eternal night and chaos, Okhema, sheltered under the protection of the World Titan, remains the last refuge and beacon of hope for humanity. Local legend tells a romantic story: One day Kephale will open his eyes, lead humanity to overcome the black tide and create a new world. From beneath this sacred city, a group of human heroes known as the Heirs of Chrysos embark on a quest for the flame, taking on a mission to reclaim the twelve Titan Coreflames and restore Amphoreus to glory. In future stories, Trailblazer will join their journey, fighting alongside the Heirs of Chrysos in this legendary expedition.

In Version 3.0, Trailblazers will also explore the unique city of Castrum Kremnos. It is named after the Blade of Fury that dangles high above the city and is also where the Strife Titan resides, thus making it the place where the seventh Coreflame sleeps. In the second half of the Trailblaze Mission, players will borrow the power of Oronyx to return to the past and experience Castrum Kremnos in its heyday. There, they will discover one of the mechanisms left behind by the Trick Titan Zagreus: the Hand of Zagreus. This mechanic can be used to lift heavy objects, pick up items, smash open roads, and kill enemies with ease in special cases. It serves as a major aid for exploration. In Version 3.0’s climactic Trailblaze Quest, the Forerunner and Heir of Chrysos will face countless challenges before engaging in the final battle with Nikador, the Titan Strife, to reclaim Strife’s Coreflame. Known as the “Lance of Fury,” Nikador and his followers had a passionate devotion to war and combat. To defeat them, Pioneers need to collect “Glory” stacks to destroy Nikador’s “Titanic Corpus”.

The final area of ​​Version 3.0 opens in the Vortex of Genesis, the great sanctuary and birthplace of Amphoreus. This sacred site, which contains the primordial essence of the Twelve Titans, is said to be where the Miracle of Genesis will one day appear. Here, the Heirs of Chrysos would return the recovered Coreflames after overthrowing each Titan. Above, constellations light up the night sky, symbolizing the journey of those who have gone before. The journey of chasing fire, a thousand-year adventure filled with challenges and perseverance, has now reached a turning point. The path ahead will be forged by the Pioneers, standing side by side with the Heirs of Chrysos to continue the legend!

Companions of the Flame Chasing Journey

Version 3.0 will invite two new and powerful 5-star characters to join the player’s team. The first was the 83rd esteemed member of the Genius Society, the Creator of Erudition: Ms. Herta. Since Herta’s debut, she has made a lasting impression through her unique Herta puppets and idiosyncratic behaviors on the space station. It is said that her true self lies in a place on the edge of the universe and she rarely reveals herself to others. It wasn’t until today that she showed up. Herta is an Ice-type Erudition character with the AoE DMG skill. During battle, she can apply Interpretation on enemies, and allied characters’ attacks can also apply Interpretation. With the increase of Interpretation stacks, Herta’s abilities can increase powerful DMG attacks based on their high Interpretation stacks against specific targets and multiple nearby enemies. Additionally, Herta’s Ultimate can also Transfer the highest points of Explanation to Elite or stronger enemies, before dealing Ice DMG to all enemy targets.”

The second character to make her debut is Aglaea from Amphoreus. She wields the divine power of “Romance” and was one of the earliest Chrysos Heirs to embark on the Flame Chasing Journey. As Okhema’s steward, Aglaea is not only a legendary hero of the Amphoreus, but she is also a key figure in recruiting new Chrysos Heirs to begin their journey to save the world after the Fire Expulsion Journey was interrupted earlier.
