Guys, it looks like the 2024 BET Awards are going to be full of surprises — especially from the master of ceremonies, Taraji P. Henson.

As The Shade Room previously reported, Taraji P. Henson will host the BET Awards for the third year in a row, telecasting live on Sunday, June 28 at 8 p.m. USA.

Before appearing on stage, Taraji P. Henson shared with EVERYBODY The surprises she has in store for the big night. Henson told the news outlet that she plans to reveal a hidden talent that only a few people know about.

“I’m showing off another talent that many of you didn’t know I could do. Some of you know, but not all of you. I just don’t have a stage yet. Actually I had one once. But everyone doesn’t see it. This is the biggest cultural night. The world will know.”

Taraji further revealed that even though she has hosted the BET Awards twice, she still feels nervous.

“I love nerves. I still get nervous. I was nervous the first day of filming. It’s a live performance. You know, things can go right or go wrong, but that’s the fun of it. That’s what I love about live theater. It keeps you on your toes.

Taraji also expressed her excitement to be back this year, promising to bring the audience a great show.

“So I’m really excited about this year. It’s going to be an incredible show. It’s the biggest cultural night. The performances are going to blow us all away. We have Will Smith, guys. I’m excited to see what he has up his sleeve.”

The 2024 BET Awards are gearing up to be a night that lights up the culture!

According to PEOPLE, BET announced on Friday, June 28 that six additional performers have been added to the lineup. The show will now see Childish Gambino, Chloe Bailey, Keke Palmer, Summer pedestrian, Coco Jones And Marsha Ambrosius onto the stage.

The six singers join a group of heavyweight stars, including Stallion Megan Thee, GloRilla, Will Smith, Ice spice, latte, Ms. Lauryn Hill, YG Marley, Muni Long, Sexy red, TylaAnd Victoria Monet.

The star-studded night will also honor Usher with a Lifetime Achievement Award for his enduring musical legacy.

Culture’s biggest night will kick off the festival with a two-hour red carpet pre-show at 6 p.m. EST on Sunday, June 30. The live ceremony will stream from Los Angeles starting at 8 p.m. pm EST.
