Team Ninja is preparing to celebrate its 30th anniversary
@sketchturner I can’t speak for the collection, but Ninja Gaiden is a pretty brutal game series in every way. That includes difficulty.
Additionally, based on my experience with Ninja Gaiden Razor’s Edge, seeing which enemies are missing limbs is an indication that they can be taken down easily for a bit of health or that they are at risk of being hit by a kamikaze, so it has a lot to do with strategic gameplay feedback.
In other words, you’ll have to get used to it. I speak as someone who doesn’t usually play bloody games. If it makes you feel better, there are plenty of demon enemies in the series with their own strange bloodlines, and the games are very “old samurai movies” about dismembering bodies, so they play comes out quickly and accurately unlike some other action games like God of War that really overdo things.
Either way, you might want to play these games because they seem pretty good.
