The The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom absolutely crammed full of characters, mechanics, enemies, and things to do. One glaring omission, however, is Kass, Breath of the Wild‘s Rito minstrel travels. Luckily for fans, the recent release Master Works Books proposes a few scenarios for where Kass could be in the sequel.

Zelda Lore shared an excerpt of the book on Twitter (Thanks The game is recreated for tips) including Kass’s potential whereabouts in Tears of the Kingdom. The bird is not present in Hyrule in the game, with no explanation given for its absence. It is not even mentionedAt least until Master Works came along.

Before we go any further, we want to emphasize that this is not an official rule; as we said in our review of the book, it “doesn’t provide superficial answers” and “The History section eagerly provides details on what you already know, but only raises questions about some of the more intriguing mysteries.” Now, with that out of the way, may be disclosed in advance (after Ultimate Smash Kass theme version)

Zelda Lore gives us a rough translation of the section about Kass—basically, the book suggests that Kass may have left Hyrule to learn more, or that he’s flying around Hyrule and somehow We happened to never meet him. Both proposals were very ambiguous, so don’t use any of these with any

Interestingly, Penn, the reporter in Tears of the Kingdom, is mentioned in this entry: he may have “heard of [Kass] somewhere, or perhaps he felt the same way as that anonymous poet”.

So it looks like we’ll never officially know where Kass went. We’d love to see our favorite Rito again, as he’s such a huge part of Breath of the Wild. Maybe Kass will return one day, but for now, plot convenience seems like the easiest reason.

Well, luckily the Master Works book is pretty good, even though it may not answer many questions. Still, it’s a must-buy for Zelda fans, and hopefully an English version will come out soon.
