Tentacular Island Builder expansion adds life to the game

tentacles one of VR Games It’s fun for a lot of reasons. One thing I noticed is that this is the kind of thing that when you’re done, you can walk away and feel satisfied. The great thing about Island Builder is that it’s free. update because tentacles is that it adds an element of creativity that can continue, but also builds on what’s fun about the game as a whole.

For those who haven’t played the Firepunchd Games and Devolver Digital title when it first appeared on Meta Quest, PS VR2, or Windows PC VR headsets, the concept is simple. In tentaclesYou are basically a kraken-like creature. You are raised alongside humans after hatching from an egg. Once you reach adulthood, you enter the workforce and begin helping people on the island of La Kalma with odd jobs. It is essentially a physics-based puzzle game with various scenarios scattered throughout the levels, but there is also an overarching storyline that provides some insight into the characters, the island, and the situations they are dealing with.

But the real fun is figuring out how to solve problems when you only have two tentacles.

While there are some additional quests in tentacles The Island Builder update is pretty cool and different from the previous one, the selling point is the Island Builder. This update gives you access to a sandbox space that lets you create your own island or view other people’s islands. I can’t stop playing with the new toolset.

Some of the base games just involve being able to create blocks of dirt and elements. Others involve getting a whole building toy box of different elements and features to help you put things together. There are puzzle pieces that allow you to combine items. Basically, everything I encountered in the main game was available as an option when building or decorating in this additional area. While the first hour or so just involved fiddling with the creativity glove and building blocks to develop my own unique island, I actually felt like I had gotten to a point where I could build a small town that made sense with me. But I also admit that I had fun destroying a bit of things when my vision wasn’t right either. Since they weren’t NPCs that I was used to from the actual game, I didn’t feel the same way. guilty like i want to… throw a car or boat around there.

The ability to visit other people’s islands is also a great perk. tentaclesThe base game’s great at providing puzzles that someone can play without getting VR or motion sickness. Since I move around a lot more when building my own island in the sandbox element, I find myself needing to take breaks a little more often. If I know I only need about five or ten minutes, I’ll usually put my Meta Quest 3 on hold and move on to some other player’s creation.

The only thing I don’t like, honestly, is tentacles cheat terminal. I ended up using it to mess around and unlock something, and I absolutely hate the inputs. The nature of it is that you need to take letters from the board and put them in the area in the right order to spell the right phase. But because of the lack of precision, when I take “O” I also get “F” or “G”. The only time I can get a letter exactly what I need is if it’s in the first row (ie R, S, T, Y, V, W, X, Y or Z). It’s incredibly annoying and I would appreciate a little break in the immersion to make it more bearable.

Before tentacles The free update to Island Builder has dropped, which is probably one of the best VR games you can get because of how well the concept and execution come together. After that new addition, I think it’s definitely in the top five. It feels like the perfect playground for anyone who’s ever been sucked into Sim City or Sims style games for hours as they just want to design the look of the city or house. It provides an even better reason to come back to the game and possibly play more often after passing the initial levels.

tentacles available on Meta Quest 2, Meta Quest 3, Meta Quest Pro, PS VR2, and Windows PC VR headsets, and the Island Builder update is here.
