The Capital One Venture X Rewards and Venture X Business Card are losing Plaza Premium lounge access

Capital One terminates access to the Plaza Premium lounge
According to Capital One’s website, X joint venture And X business venture cardholders will lose access to Plaza Premium lounges beginning March 1. Additionally, some cardholders have been notified via recent monthly reports of the impending loss of access to waiting room.
As the Capital One website points out, this change will not affect access to most Plaza Premium lounges, most of which are still accessible through Priority Pass membership with the card.
Plaza Premium lounge access with Venture X and Venture X Business after March
Even if access to Plaza Premium lounges is eliminated on March 1, cardholders can still access most Plaza Premium lounges through their included Priority Pass membership.
Because X joint venture And X business venture cardholders (and authorized users) who have not signed up for the free Priority Pass membership that comes with the card, it’s a simple process:
- Visit Capital One Preferred Pass page (or click the link in your welcome email).
- Enter your 16-digit card number.
- Follow the prompts to complete creating your Priority Pass account.
You can then download and log in to the Priority Pass mobile app to access your digital membership card and see an updated list of available lounges while traveling.

However, there are some downsides to accessing the Plaza Premium lounge with a Priority Pass.

When entering a lounge with a Priority Pass, guests will only have access to the lounge for two hours (if entering with a direct access credit card or via a business class ticket, you can stay for three hours) and you must Pay for shower access. I witnessed this firsthand during a trip last month when I visited the Plaza Premium Lounge at Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport (TPE) with my Priority Pass membership; I was told I could only stay for two hours and could not use the shower during my visit.
Additionally, not all Plaza Premium lounges are currently part of Priority Pass, including some lounges in Brazil, Indonesia, and other countries.
It’s important to note that tags like American Express Platinum® Card And American Express Business Platinum® Card still include free access to the Plaza Premium lounge, although both charge a much higher annual fee than Venture X and Venture X Business.
Bottom line
Despite the loss of in-person access, cardholders can still access most Plaza Premium lounges with a Priority Pass membership on their card, albeit with a two-hour visit limit and usage fees. use the shower.
