The Sacred Kingdom movie release date falls in September


The hegemony series movie Overlord: Sacred Kingdom Scheduled for release in Japan on September 20, 2024. Crunchyroll previously announced that they would handle the worldwide release, bringing the film to theaters in North America and select international regions, including Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and Latin America. Specific dates for these releases will be announced at a later date.

hegemony started as a light novel series in 2010 and was later adapted into a manga and anime. The story is set in a Future MMORPG and follows Satoru Suzuki, also known as Momonga, the leader of a famous guild in the game. When the game’s servers shut down, Suzuki is trapped in the body of his player character. He then re-establishes his guild and begins a journey to explore the world, searching for other players who may have experienced a similar fate.

The Overlord: Sacred Kingdom The film picks up after the end of season 4 of the anime. Naoyuki Ito returns as director, with Satoshi Tasaki serving as character designer and chief animation director, and Shuji Katayama (Team-MAX) handling the music for the MADHOUSE production.

Overlord: Sacred Kingdom aired in Japanese theaters on September 20, 2024. The first four seasons of the anime series are available to stream on Crunchyroll. Both the manga and light novels are also available in English through Yen Press.
