United launches redesigned amenity kits, kids packs

United Airlines is revamping its in-flight experience with the launch of a redesigned amenity kit.

The Chicago-based airline will begin offering the newly designed kits aboard Polaris business class starting mid-November, as detailed in an internal memo and reviewed by An airline spokesperson confirmed.

The kits, designed in collaboration with healthcare brand Therabody, are shaped after the contours of the case used for Therabody’s Theragun Mini. (The Theragun Mini is a popular massage gun device that’s portable enough for travel use. It retails for $199 and is unfortunately not included in the amenity kit.)

There will be two variants of the redesigned amenity kits: one in blue and one in grey. There’s no telling which color you’ll find on your flight, so just book your flight at United Polaris if you want to collect both.

The contents of the amenity kit remain unchanged. Inside you’ll find the Arrival Revived kit, earplugs, dental kit, pens, soft tissues, sleep mask, socks and clean wipes.

In terms of utility kits, this new design seems quite practical for those who want to reuse the bag on future trips. It looks like it would be just the right size to hold some travel gear like chargers, cables, and other essentials.

In addition to the amenity kits, United will launch an updated children’s travel kit in December. United says the new kits are designed to keep children engaged and entertained throughout their journey. It will include an activity book with crayons, a flight certificate, origami instructions and a pop bracelet.

This is the latest change United is making to the in-flight experience. The airline recently began rolling out improved menus on premium cardboard, as well updated bedding eliminates single-use plastic.

United is also expected to launch improved Polaris seats in the coming months as it introduces the new Boeing 787 Dreamliner cabin.

These are exciting times to be a United passenger, and TPG will keep you updated on the latest information.
