User X will no longer see these posts on Elon Musk’s main timeline, updating shares
Elon Musk, owner of X, has advised users of the social media platform not to use too many bold fonts in their posts.
He announced that such posts will no longer be prominently displayed on the main timeline.
Musk emphasized that the bold font feature, intended to help users emphasize specific parts of their messages, can reduce the overall appeal of a post when overused.
He expressed his frustration in a post, saying: “You will have to click on the post details to see anything in bold. My eyes are bleeding.”
This change takes effect immediately, meaning any text formatted in bold will be hidden from live view on the main feed.
Now users will need to click on each post to see the bold text. This update doesn’t just apply to web users, but was recently extended to those using iOS and Android apps.
Previously, X only allowed bold and italic text formatting for web users, but expanding this feature to mobile platforms has led to a significant increase in its usage.
This new rule was announced to remind users about maintaining readability and aesthetic quality in their posts, ensuring that the platform remains user-friendly.
With this new rule, X aims to enhance the visual experience for users and maintain the integrity of the platform’s content.
