Here’s What Happened Between Delta and Endeavor Planes

According to ABC NewsDelta Air Lines Flight 295 was headed to Tokyo, while Endeavor Air Flight 5526 was headed to Louisiana. Endeavor is a subsidiary of Delta. As the Delta plane began to prepare for takeoff, it briefly collided with the smaller Endeavor plane, causing the plane’s tail to fall off. The Delta plane’s wing was also damaged.

The incident occurred at approximately 10:10 a.m. local time, according to the Federal Aviation Administration. The airline, Atlanta airport and the FAA all confirmed that no one was injured in the shocking incident. Additionally, there was “minimal impact” to airport operations following the incident.

In a statement quoted by TMZDelta has revealed the number of passengers affected and its cooperation in the subsequent investigation.

“There were 221 passengers on Flight DL295 and 56 passengers on Flight DL5526. No additional operational adjustments are anticipated at this time,” the airline said in a statement. “Delta is cooperating with the NTSB and other authorities regarding this incident.”

According to TMZ, a passenger, Tampa meteorologist Jason Adams, was on one of the affected planes. Adams said the crash involved “a metallic screeching sound and then a loud bang,” but no fire or smoke. Despite being “very jarring,” Adams confirmed that everyone on board was “fine.”

Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta is considered one of the busiest airports in the world. This is the second time in recent weeks that the airport has made headlines for an incident involving a plane.

In late August, a tire blowout at a nearby maintenance shop killed two Delta employees and injured a third. Since then, more details about the victims have emerged, including their names and ages. Delta also issued a statement offering its “full support” to the families and coworkers affected.
