Westin Bora Bora opens in the South Pacific


One of the TPG’s Most Anticipated Hotels in Their Opening Year — in one of the most beautiful destinations on earth — has finally arrived.

Westin Bora Bora Resort & Spa officially opened this week, boasting the highest number of overwater bungalows of any resort in French Polynesia. The resort, formerly a Le Meridien property, underwent a comprehensive renovation before becoming affiliated with Westin.

The new Westin hotel includes 128 overwater bungalows, many of which have private pool. All have views of the lagoon, islands or Bora Bora’s towering Mount Otemanu. The resort also has 14 family-friendly bungalows overlooking the lagoon.

“We are thrilled to announce this resort as the first to open in Bora Bora since 2017, making the dream of Bora Bora come to life like never before,” César Marques, general manager of The Westin Bora Bora Resort & Spa, said in a statement. “The Westin Bora Bora combines the island’s serene landscape with first-class accommodations, breathtaking ocean views and a variety of on- and off-resort experiences, ensuring every guest has an unforgettable stay.”

In terms of amenities, The Westin Bora Bora includes a resort-centric infinity pool with six cabanas, a pool bar, a private lagoon, locally inspired wellness services and six dining options featuring French Polynesian cuisine. Those looking to unwind can head to the Heavenly Spa for a treatment or maintain their fitness regimen at the Westin Workout Fitness.

Of course, guests can end the day by falling asleep on the luxurious Westin Heavenly Bed.

Rates at the new Westin Bora Bora Resort & Spa start at $1,000 a night. Available points seem extremely limited right now, but some award nights redeemed next year are as low as $74,000. Marriott Bonvoy Hotel points per night.
