What are you playing this weekend? (August 3)

I’m going on holiday this weekend and in a moment of panic I realized I have nothing to do while I’m away. What am I supposed to do? Go out in the Italian sunshine? Take a dip in the pool? Read a book? What am I, an animal??
This won’t work at all. A quick look at my eShop wishlist shows Wild Frost There’s a nice sale going on right now and I’ve been eyeing it for a while. But I probably won’t be buying anything new. Maybe this is my chance to finish Mario + Rabbids Ray of Hopeor Persona 4 Goldor Eastwardor any other title waiting for me in the backlist.
Well, maybe I’ll start something else…

Contrary to what I thought, I went and bought an N64 controller for NSO, so I think this weekend will be for some classic games like Banjo-Kazooie, Pokémon Stadiumand a relatively unknown title called Zelda: Ocarina of Time.
Otherwise, surprisingly, Ollie is back with another Resident Evil binge. I’m playing OG Games on PS5, but I’m also experimenting with a ROM for Resident Evil: Gaiden. It’s not a good game, but it’s fun in some weird way…

Well, now I can officially say that I am playing Ace Attorney Investigation!!!!!!!!! This is great. I want to talk about it so much but I have no one to talk to! I just had my wisdom teeth removed yesterday, so I’m trying to play some calmer games, like Subnautica And Everafter Fallsand it’s a long weekend in canada so i’ll be indoors and eating all sorts of soft foods. i also want to play thank goodness you’re here, and explain all the british references to my canadian partner. this is one of those weeks where i think to myself: oh my god i love video games.
(My partner is about to beat Mohg in The Elden Ring so maybe i’ll be the one cheering for him. please pray for us!)

The sweet smell of August means I’ll soon be off to strange places without an online device in sight! You’ll still have to bear with me for a few more weeks, so this weekend I’ll finally be playing Nintendo World Championship: NES Version with my Famicom controller for a “proper competitive edge”. Although I’d love to relive the glory days with my newly received physical copy Rocket Knight Adventures: ReimaginedMy summer live DJ show has to take priority — I need it done by next week!
My game of the week is still Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown Deluxe Edition. Still hunting for all the hidden ace pilots. Really don’t need any big reason to keep playing this. I just love flying in these virtual skies!
