What are you playing this weekend? (September 21)
Jim Norman, Staff Writer
It’s going to be a battle for my time between two 3D platform games this weekend and only one of them is Nintendo (please don’t hurt me). I got very lucky last week and got Astronomy bot on my birthday. I refuse to move on to any world until I’ve collected all the collectibles, so as you can imagine, I’m taking my sweet time with it—and that’s okay! Damn, I love this game.
But playing Team Asobi’s latest game also brought me back Super Mario Odyssey. I was just hoping to play for a short while and collect the remaining Moons, but now I find myself desperate to play 100%. Have I lost all the plot? Will I never play another game again? Come back to WAYP next week to find out!

I recently purchased a copy of Prince of Persia: The Lost Crownso even though i’ve been testing it out for the past few days, i really want to get into it seriously this weekend. so far it’s been great though; i like the combat and the exploration seems pretty engaging so far.
I am also working my way through brave gentleman (and it’s really good, in my opinion), while also playing a little Zelda: Link’s Awakening on Switch first Echoes of Wisdom drops. Yeah, quite a lot to chew on this weekend! Have a great day everyone.

This weekend I will focus on Shadow of the Ninja – RebirthNatsume’s fantastic sequel to the original NES game. This game has so much variety in the action, I can’t get enough, and that hard default difficulty really pushes the envelope. This is a one-life game, just like the original, so I’ll see if I can get it to a perfect finish on one life. Wish me luck, hardcore gamers!

This weekend, I’ll be juggling three quite different games. First, I’ll be a mighty pirate in Back to Monkey Islandwhere I would chat with sarcastic skeletons and try out my horse armor on things. Then there was Disaster Report 3 on my PSTV – because nothing says lazy Sunday morning like surviving a catastrophic earthquake.
And for my 5 year old, it would be Kirby all the way. We just finished Another Code: Two Memorieshopefully no parents get murdered this time… Overall, it’s going to be a relaxing/earthquake-filled weekend!

I will come back to visit this weekend. Shovel Knight: Treasuresince I’ve had a few alternate campaigns in my backlog for years and started playing Atari’s super cool game again Yars increaseI’ll put in a little Closea roguelike game that I would describe as “Kill Spireexcept it uses pachinko instead of cards.” It was fun and extremely relaxing.
I also played it great again Little Nightmares II and am on track to complete it. I am also planning to start Endless Ocean: Shining for a diving event this weekend, mostly because my cat loves it when I play it on my giant wall projector. To be fair, I like the fish info too.

Ironically, during the first week of ‘What Are You Playing’, I didn’t have a Switch because my boyfriend was away and had his handheld with him. But he was kind enough to activate Xbox Game Pass for me, so I’ll be splitting my time between Spiritual Traveler, Dordogne, A little to the left and anything else i can find.
A Little To The Left is really addictive, although I wondered if it would be playable on Switch, because of the drag and drop gameplay – until I saw the review on Nintendo Life saying that the touchscreen is quite difficult to control.

Oh no, my vacation (more like summer) is over! I don’t even know how to live in the city anymore… but I can still play video games. Deleted a bunch of games during my offline time. This week wasn’t too bad either thanks to e-Shop gems like hardcore platformers BZZT And Bullet Byte along with the upcoming release DX Dairy Cow. Indie hit The Plucky Squire (despite its sad Switch optimization issues) is pretty fun, but if you like escapism with a heavy dose of insanity then MDickie’s Hard Times III might be for you.
Game of the week is one that I haven’t been able to finish during my absence: BAKERU. That is the best thing “I can’t believe it’s not Goemon“the game I’ve ever played. I don’t think I’m close to the finish line, but will try my best to make progress this weekend… provided my friends don’t write “SPACE MARINE II” on discord.

No matter how hard I try to keep track of the five billion or so September releases I care about, my backlog is really starting to pile up. Right now, I’m wondering whether to ruin my emotional state by Reload Persona 3Episode Aigis DLC or have a good laugh with The Plucky Squire first. It’s highly unlikely I’ll have time to finish both before The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom takes over my world next week, so it’s a tough choice.
Ah, but I also need to finish. Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney Trilogy so i can come Ace Attorney Investigation Collection Not much longer! I’ve had enough of all these games, but this month has been the calm before the storm of October releases. Oh well, at least I got Astro Bot platinum.
That’s what we have planned for the weekend, but what about you? You can let us know what games you’ll be playing in the poll below and then comment to share what’s on your list.
