What to Know About Javaughn, the Daughter’s Father

Javaughn Young-White’s custody case against Kehlani

In court documents, Javaugn accused the celebrity mom of being “involved in a cult,” according to TMZ. He claims to fear for Adeya’s safety and is seeking full custody to interfere with how the singer is reportedly raising their child. He also claims the mother of one has prevented him from seeing Adeya.

The singer has yet to publicly comment on Javaughn Young-White’s allegations in court. However, TMZ reported that the parents have been ordered to attend mediation. They are supposed to discuss visitation rights, custody, and a shared parenting plan.

When and how did the parents welcome Adeya Nomi?

As previously reported, Javaughn Young-White and Kehlani welcomed Adeya Nomi on March 23, 2019. Their first child was delivered in the singer’s bathroom at their home without any medication. In a now-deleted post, they revealed that it was the “hardest, strongest thing” they’ve ever done.

Javie confirmed their story in a post on Twitter (now X). He added that he held Adeya Nomi in his arms as Kehlani struggled to stand up. He also said that the experience was the “best moment” of his life, according to EVERYBODY.

Amid their pregnancy announcement, the singer reportedly shared that they trust Javie (their best friend and amazing partner) “with [their] body.”

What was the relationship between Javaughn and the singer like before Adeya was born?

According to the same source, Javaughn, also known as Javie, was the singer’s guitarist and friend “for a very long time” before Adeya.

What’s more, they told Nicki Minaj on ‘Queen Radio’ in 2018 that the pregnancy was planned. The singer seemingly confirmed (after Nicki asked) that they had “a lot of sex” because they had such a short time to get pregnant.

“…We had it planned out, so we definitely had to…we only had a short amount of time to actually have sex every day, and we were so happy that it wasn’t a chore anymore,” the singer said, adding that it was “fun.”

Additionally, Kehlani explained that her previous relationship with a woman ended before she met Javaughn Young-White. They shared that they feel “lucky to have found a partner who is a bisexual male.”

“He really understands my weirdness and my groundedness, and I really understand his, and we really appreciate each other as people,” Kehlani said at the time.

Kehlani calls him “My really close friend in 2021”

Javaughn and her husband dated during her pregnancy, but multiple news outlets, including PEOPLE and TMZ, reported that they split shortly after the singer gave birth.

In a 2021 Facebook Watch special, Kehlani described her friendly relationship with her daughter’s father.

“Her dad and I are like really, really close friends, and the decision to start a family was really easy for us because we both believe in each other’s ability to be good parents,” they shared on Facebook’s ‘Pride On! Kehlani & Larry’s Excellent Pride Ride.’

They added that as parents, they “focus on being a team.” When they told Javie that they had “come to new terms with [their] sex,” he was “super, super, super support,” singer shared.

Javaughn has a famous brother.

Kehlani isn’t the only celebrity with a connection to Javaughn Young-White. The guitarist is also related to the comedian and actor Jaboukie young-white. Jaboukie worked with Trevor Noah on ‘The Daily Show’ until 2021 and has taken on various roles since then, including in ‘Only Murders In The Building.’

As for his closeness to his brother, Javie doesn’t appear in any of the 21 posts on the comedian’s Instagram page. However, in 2020, they attended the 51st NACCP Image Awards together.
