The new call linking feature will allow users to initiate a call without automatically ringing all group members. Instead, participants will be able to join the call at their convenience, which is expected to make group calls more flexible and user-friendly. Currently, the app rings all group members when a call comes in, but this approach will be revised.

WhatsApp has offered call links for two years, but the upcoming update will improve the functionality by allowing users to create and share links directly within group chats. This should make the process of initiating group calls more seamless and efficient.

Once the call link is shared, team members can join the call with a simple tap, eliminating the need for group-wide ring notifications. This feature will be especially useful for large international teams as it supports different time zones and availability, making it easier to coordinate calls.

It’s important to note that this feature is still in development and will be integrated in future updates.

Meta AI Voice Mode is in Development

In addition to this update, WhatsApp is integrating Meta AI into its chat interface. The new voice mode feature will allow users to interact with Meta AI using real-time voice commands. Instead of typing messages, users will be able to speak directly to Meta AI, which will respond in a voice of their choice. The feature aims to increase personalization by providing a variety of voice options that users can choose from based on their preferences.
