Hello Lohar. In the final part of the season House of the Dragon, Tyland Lannister (Jefferson Building)King Aegon’s captain, tasked with reinforcing the Triarchy to support the Green Fleet. But before the Triarchy commits their men and ships to Tyland, he must first win the favor of the eccentric Lohar, who commands the fleet. In George RR Martin Fire and ice, reference books used as a basis for House of the DragonSharako Lohar is a male admiral commanding a fleet of ships of the Triarchy. But on House of the Dragon, Lohar’s gender seems to be more fluid. Lohar’s comrades refer to their commander by he/him when telling Tyland that he needs to win the admiral’s support to protect the Triarchy fleet. “Our fleet commander must agree to go with you. His name is Lohar,” one captain said. “The sailors are very loyal to him. If he doesn’t command them, they won’t fight.” Tyland Lannister agreed to entertain this Lohar, thinking he would meet another rude male captain in Essos.

Enter Lohar: a tall, feminine-looking person with long hair, almost Targaryen-like, and a bit of an attitude. Lohar doesn’t specify their gender, seems to enjoy Tyland’s obvious confusion, and adds to the mind games by deliberately mispronouncing Tyland’s name. But at least Thorn refers to her character by she/her pronouns. “VERY excited to announce this – I’m joining the cast of HBO’s House of the Dragon. I play Sharako Lohar – she’s the new commander of the Triarchy and you can expect to see her in action soon,” she said. she posted X.

During their duel, Lohar challenges Tyland to a duel. “I’m not going to sail with someone who can’t beat me,” Lohar says. Later in the episode, we learn that the proposed contest is a violent mud wrestling match, with Lohar and Tyland engaging in hand-to-hand combat. By the end of their duel, it’s clear that Tyland has won, earning Lohar’s respect.

During the celebration, Lohar’s respect for Tyland deepens and becomes more intimate. After Tyland sings a little song before the meal, Lohar is clearly smitten with Lannister and agrees to sail with Lannister and fight for the Blue. But war is not the only thing on Lohan’s mind. “You are a handsome man and have proven your worth and your manly strength,” Lohar tells Tyland. “I want to have your child.” A confused Tyland asks Lohar to clarify what they mean. Lohar makes their intentions clear: “I want you to have sex with my wife.” Tyland, confused like a gentleman, asks, “How much?” The ending ends with the unlikely pair of Lohar and Tyland on a ship, leading a fleet of ships into battle.

Abigail Thorn, who plays Lohar, is a British performer and YouTuber who is relatively new to the acting scene. In 2021, Thorn came out as a transgender woman in a YouTube video Coming Out as Transgender – A Small Public Statement, and is a strong advocate for transgender rights and healthcare. This year, she also appeared on Star Wars TV series Altar Server.

Even though Lohar has only just joined the fight, we’ll get to spend more time with him and his wife next season.
